About Juanjuí

Juanjuí is the capital of the Mariscal Cáceres Province in Peru's San Martín region, situated in the northern Amazon lowlands. Home to roughly 54,000 people, it serves as a regional hub for commerce and administration on the edge of the Amazon basin. The Plaza de Armas Juanjuí anchors the city centre, and the surrounding area offers natural points of interest such as the caves Cueva de los Franceses and Cueva El Burro, along with the river ports Puerto Tarata and Puerto Cangrejo.
