About Costa Rica
Costa Rica is a small Central American country bordered by Nicaragua to the north and Panama to the south, with coastlines on both the Pacific Ocean and the Caribbean Sea. It abolished its military in 1948 and has since maintained one of the region's most stable democracies. A large share of its territory is protected as national parks and reserves, including Corcovado and Tortuguero. This combination of volcanic highlands, rainforests, and diverse wildlife makes it a notable destination for nature-oriented travel.
