About Cyprus

Cyprus is an island in the eastern Mediterranean and the third-largest country in the sea by area, covering roughly 9,251 km². A member of the European Union since 2004, it is known for its warm Mediterranean climate, a coastline with numerous beaches, and a history stretching back thousands of years. Since 1974 the island has been divided between the Republic of Cyprus in the south and a Turkish-administered area in the north. Ancient Paphos, the port city of Limassol, and the Troodos Mountains are among its notable features.
