About Federated States of Micronesia
The Federated States of Micronesia is an island nation in the western Pacific Ocean, made up of four states: Yap, Chuuk, Pohnpei, and Kosrae. Comprising more than 600 islands scattered across a vast stretch of ocean, the country has its capital at Palikir on the island of Pohnpei. Since 1986 it has been in free association with the United States. The islands are known for a tropical climate, dense rainforest interiors, and diverse coral reefs that attract divers from around the world.
