About Saint Martin
Saint Martin is a Caribbean island divided between two sovereign territories: the northern French collectivity of Saint-Martin and the Dutch constituent country of Sint Maarten in the south. Located in the northeastern Caribbean Sea, northeast of Puerto Rico, the island is among the smallest landmasses in the world shared by two different nations. The border between the two sides is open and largely unmarked. Tourism is the dominant industry on both sides, drawing visitors with sandy beaches, a warm climate, and a blend of French and Dutch influences.
