About Chad
Chad is a landlocked country in Central Africa and one of the continent's largest by area. It borders six countries, including Libya to the north and the Central African Republic to the south. The country spans three distinct climate zones: the Sahara desert in the north, the semi-arid Sahel in the centre, and a more fertile Sudanian savanna zone in the south. The capital and largest city is N'Djamena. Lake Chad in the west, whose surface area fluctuates significantly with the seasons, serves as a vital freshwater source for the wider region.
