About Vanuatu

Vanuatu is an island nation in the southern Pacific Ocean, comprising roughly 80 islands of volcanic and coral origin. Situated east of Australia and north of New Caledonia, it gained independence in 1980. The population speaks more than a hundred local languages alongside the three official ones: Bislama, English, and French. The country is noted for active volcanoes, diverse coral reefs, and a rich Melanesian cultural heritage. Its economy relies primarily on subsistence farming, tourism, and offshore financial services.
