About Zimbabwe
Zimbabwe is a landlocked country in southern Africa, sharing borders with Zambia, Mozambique, South Africa, and Botswana. It is home to the ruins of Great Zimbabwe, a significant medieval stone complex that gave the nation its name, and to the Victoria Falls on the Zambezi River, shared with Zambia. Hwange National Park supports a diverse range of wildlife. The capital is Harare. Zimbabwe gained independence in 1980 and has since experienced substantial political and economic changes that have shaped the country's contemporary character.
