TravelType needs your ratings to work — beyond that, not much.
What happens to my ratings?
Your ratings build your travel profile. We store which places you love/like/dislike and when, and calculate your Match-Score for new cities from that. The data stays in your account — when you delete it, it's gone for good.
Are there trackers or ad pixels?
No. TravelType runs on its own server without external trackers, analytics tools or ad tech. That's intentional — no tracking is the safest tracking. Server logs (IP, User-Agent) auto-delete after 7 days.
Where can I see what data you store about me?
Right in your Settings: email, all your ratings, your travel archetype and tag scores. You can view and edit there, and deactivate your account. Permanent deletion of all data is handled on email request.
Can I export or delete my data?
Yes to both. In Settings → Data you can deactivate your account (hidden everywhere, reactivatable). Permanent deletion of all data and a JSON export are available on email request — within 30 days.
Which server does TravelType run on?
On servers from Hetzner Online GmbH in Falkenstein, Germany. That means: EU data protection, GDPR compliance, no transfer to third countries. The map uses OpenFreeMap (community OpenStreetMap) — your IP is visible there when you load it.
Who owns my data? Who has access?
You. Your data belongs to you — nobody else. Not the operator, not third parties. The operator (KonzeptCode UG, Talha) only has access to the extent the infrastructure requires; no profiling for third parties, no data sales. Profiles are private by default — only you see yours unless you make it public.
