Alewife

Alewife is the northern terminus of the MBTA Red Line in Cambridge, Massachusetts, sitting at the edge of the city near the Fresh Pond neighborhood. Its name comes from the alewife fish — a type of river herring — historically found in the nearby Alewife Brook Reservation wetlands. The station offers full wheelchair accessibility and a large Park & Ride garage, making it a practical interchange for commuters arriving from the northern suburbs before heading into Boston.
