Alpengeist

Alpengeist is a steel inverted coaster built by Swiss manufacturer Bolliger & Mabillard, which opened on March 22, 1997, at Busch Gardens Williamsburg in Virginia. Themed as a runaway alpine ski lift, riders hang freely beneath the track and experience six inversions across 1,167 meters of steel — including a 32-meter vertical loop, a cobra roll, a zero-g roll, and a corkscrew. At its debut it was the world's tallest inverted coaster, and it remains among the tallest and second-fastest of its kind today, trailing only Banshee at Kings Island. The alpine theming extends through the queue line, decked out with ski-lodge props and mountain scenery.
