Arizona State Route 51

Arizona State Highway 51, known as the Piestewa Freeway, is an urban north–south freeway running through central Phoenix, opened in 1987. It was renamed in honor of Lori Piestewa, a Hopi soldier who in 2003 became the first Native American woman killed in combat while serving in the U.S. military. Beyond its function as a transit corridor, the route has no independent visitor interest.
