Okazaki Station

Okazaki Station opened in 1888 during Japan's Meiji-era railway expansion and sits in Okazaki city, Aichi Prefecture, on the island of Honshū. It is jointly operated by JR Central and the Aichi Kanjō Tetsudō, a regional loop line serving the city's outskirts. For most visitors the station serves primarily as a gateway to Okazaki itself — historically significant as the birthplace of Tokugawa Ieyasu, founder of the Edo shogunate — rather than as a destination in its own right.
