Beginenberg

The Beginenberg is a modest hilltop on the Niederrheinischer Höhenzug ridge near Kleve, rising noticeably above the otherwise flat Lower Rhine landscape. The ridge in this area climbs more than 60 metres above the surrounding ancient Rhine terraces — a rare topographic accent in this lowland region. From the top, open views stretch across the wooded parkland around Kleve and, on clear days, far into the Lower Rhine plain. It is a quiet, low-key natural vantage point suited to leisurely walks rather than strenuous hiking.
