Deodoro Aquatics Centre

The Centro Aquatico de Deodoro is an Olympic swimming venue in the Deodoro Olympic Park in north-west Rio de Janeiro. It was built for the 2016 Summer Games as a temporary facility and hosted the water polo competitions and the swimming leg of modern pentathlon. The complex consisted of a 5,000-seat competition pool and a training pool; under the legacy plan parts were converted into a public swim school after the Games. The site is part of the Vila Militar military zone, so visitor access is limited and depends on the Brazilian armed forces' training schedule.
