Hans Adolph Brorson

A bronze memorial cast in 1911 commemorates Hans Adolph Brorson (1694–1764), Danish-Lutheran bishop and one of Scandinavia's most celebrated hymn writers. Brorson spent formative years as a pastor in Tønder, close to today's German-Danish border, and his hymns remain a cornerstone of Danish Lutheran worship. Situated in Aventoft, the memorial reflects the living cultural identity of the Danish minority community in the Schleswig border region.
