Hanscom Park United Methodist Church

Hanscom Park United Methodist Church is a Protestant congregation founded in 1886 in the Hanscom Park neighborhood of Omaha, Nebraska. For much of the 20th century it served as a regional anchor of the Nebraska Conference of the United Methodist Church, hosting annual denominational meetings. In 1953, its pastor drew national attention by forming one of the earliest psychiatric peer-support groups specifically for Methodist ministers — an unusually progressive initiative for its era. The church remains an active place of worship in a quiet residential neighborhood centered around the park that shares its name.
