Şile Feneri
Landmark
Özgecan Aslan Parkı in the Istanbul district of Beykoz is named after a 20-year-old university student murdered in Mersin in February 2015. Her killing sparked widespread protests across Turkey and internationally, making her name a rallying point for the movement against violence against women. Public spaces — parks, streets, and schools — were named in her memory in cities throughout Turkey as a form of collective civic remembrance. The park itself serves as a green recreational space in Beykoz, offering a quiet area for walking and outdoor leisure.
