Square Pablo Casals

Square Pablo Casals is a small park in Paris named after the Catalan cellist and conductor Pau Casals (1876–1973), who became an enduring symbol of resistance against Franco's dictatorship. After the Nationalists won the Spanish Civil War, Casals left Spain and spent much of his life in exile, refusing to perform in countries that recognized the Franco regime. The square serves primarily as a quiet neighborhood green space; beyond its commemorative name, no distinctive features are documented.
