Rome National Central Library

The Biblioteca Nazionale Centrale di Roma (BNCR) is one of Italy's two central national libraries — the other located in Florence — holding a collection of over seven million volumes. Founded in 1875 in the immediate aftermath of Italian unification and named after King Vittorio Emanuele II, it serves as a legal deposit library, receiving a copy of every publication issued in Italy.
