Barbara

Barbara is a station on Line 4 of the Paris Métro, located beneath the Avenue de Stalingrad on the border of Montrouge and Bagneux. It was named after the French singer-songwriter Barbara, one of the great figures of postwar chanson, who died in 1997 and is buried at the nearby Cimetière parisien de Bagneux. The naming is a rare tribute to a musician within a metro network otherwise dominated by politicians and geography. The station has step-free access and two street entrances in the surrounding avenue network.
