Blankenburg

Berlin
  • Neoklassizismus
  • Nachkriegszeit
  • Denkmalgeschützt

Berlin-Blankenburg station sits in the northeastern district of the same name and serves as a junction where the historic Stettiner Bahn line meets the Berlin outer ring railway. Its neoclassical station building is a protected landmark, a rare architectural distinction among Berlin's suburban stops. During the 1960s and 1970s it also functioned as a transfer point for steam- and diesel-hauled commuter trains — part of the GDR-era regional rail network. Today it operates as a standard S-Bahn stop with step-free platform access.
