Berliner Tor
Hamburg
The elevated Bülowstraße station on Berlin's U2 line is one of the city's oldest surviving metro stations, opened on 11 March 1902 as part of Berlin's first electric elevated railway. Situated on a viaduct in the Schöneberg district, the station is named after Prussian general Friedrich Wilhelm Bülow von Dennewitz and features Jugendstil ornamental detailing typical of the Wilhelmine era. Its steel-and-brick canopied structure is a listed monument and one of the few elevated Berlin stations to retain much of its original character. Two lifts serve the side platforms, making it fully step-free accessible.
