About Andahuaylas

Andahuaylas is a city in the Apurímac region of southern Peru, situated at roughly 2,900 metres above sea level in the valley of the Río Chumbao. With a population of around 42,000, it is one of the more significant urban centres in the region. The surrounding landscape is shaped by the Andes and the heritage of the Chanka culture. Visitors can explore the hills of Cerro Huaraco and Cerro Huaroirca, as well as the archaeological site of Curamba. The Estadio de Talavera serves as the city's main sporting venue.
