Bobingen

About Bobingen

Bobingen is a town in the Augsburg district of Swabia, Bavaria, with around 18,000 inhabitants, situated between the Wertach and Schmutter river valleys. The Wertachpark offers a pleasant green corridor, while viewpoints such as the Blick übers Schmuttertal and the local hills — Aitinger Berg, Engelshofer Berg and Maierberg — give a sense of the gentle pre-Alpine landscape. The Kölberbergkapelle and Kriegerdenkmal serve as local landmarks. The area is also tied to the Battle of Lechfeld in 955, a decisive engagement in which an East Frankish army defeated the Magyars nearby.
