Bolnisi is a small town in southern Georgia, situated in the Bolnisi District within the Kvemo Kartli region. Home to around 8,400 residents, it serves as the local administrative centre for the surrounding rural area. The district is noted for its ethnically diverse population, which historically included a notable German-Georgian community. Points of interest in the area include Tmbasar, Tolubab, and Sanahin, alongside religious sites such as the Balichi Church and the ruins of older ecclesiastical structures.
