Dorfen

About Dorfen

Dorfen is a small town in the Erding district of Upper Bavaria, situated roughly 40 kilometres east of Munich in the gently rolling Isener Hügelland. Home to around 15,000 people, it serves as a local centre for the surrounding rural area. The town is notable for its collection of churches and chapels, including St. Martin, St. Andreas, St. Ulrich, St. Felizitas, and the Andrebauernkapelle, as well as the chapel Hl. Katharina. The district of Thann-Matzbach and the art project "Gemeinschaft" are also part of Dorfen, making it a quiet base for exploring the Bavarian foothills.
