About Dschang

Dschang is a city in the West Region of Cameroon, situated in the hilly highlands of Menoua Department at roughly 1,400 metres above sea level. Home to around 76,500 people, it serves as a lively regional centre with a university, a busy Marché, and cultural landmarks including the Chefferie Sonkeng and Azi Palace. Sacred sites rooted in local tradition, such as the Lieu sacré tradition and Lieu Sacré Fo'o Gahk, reflect the rich heritage of the Bamiléké area. Christian places of worship, among them the Eglise catholique St Michel de Tcho and Saint Clare Parish, are also a visible part of the city.
