Gimhae is a city of around 534,000 people in South Gyeongsang Province, South Korea, situated east of Busan near the mouth of the Nakdong River. It serves as a key industrial and logistics hub, and is home to Gimhae International Airport, which also handles flights for the greater Busan area. The city has historical significance as the heartland of the ancient Gaya confederacy.
