Hofgeismar is a small town in northern Hesse, Germany, with around 15,600 inhabitants, situated on the edge of the Reinhardswald forest. The Altstädter Kirche defines the historic town centre, and the Viehmann Brunnen commemorates Dorothea Viehmann, the legendary folktale narrator associated with the Brothers Grimm. The Eberschützer Klippen offer a striking natural destination nearby, while the Frensche Warte provides sweeping views across the North Hessian countryside. The area is also noted for its bison herd.
