About Kassala

Kassala lies in eastern Sudan near the Eritrean border, on the Gash River. Home to around 536,000 people, it serves as a key regional trade hub and is framed by a striking granite landscape. The distinctive rock formations of Jabal Wulyay and Jabal Kishaydari rise prominently around the city.
