About Korostyshiv

Korostyshiv is a Ukrainian city in Zhytomyr Oblast with approximately 24,000 inhabitants, situated around 40 kilometres west of Zhytomyr. The area is known for its granite quarrying heritage, reflected in a memorial to quarry workers who died during the Second World War. The natural reserves Zakasnyk Hrabchakovy Lis and Zakasnyk Bobrove Boloto offer woodland and wetland scenery. Cultural landmarks include the Svyato-Pokrovska Church of the Kyiv Patriarchate and a monument to Count Gustav Olizar, a notable historical figure associated with the region.
