Leinefelde-Worbis is a town of around 20,000 inhabitants in the Eichsfeld district of northwestern Thuringia, Germany. It was formed in 2004 through the merger of several municipalities and serves as the economic centre of the Eichsfeld district. The surrounding landscape of forests and rolling hills offers walking routes to local heights such as the Schloßberg, Mittelberg and Winterberg. Points of interest in the area include Klüschen Gernrode and the Gemeindezentrum Hundeshagen. The town's setting in the historically distinct Eichsfeld region makes it a quiet base for exploring the wider central German uplands.
