Mollendo

About Mollendo

Mollendo is a coastal city in southern Peru, situated on the Pacific shore in the Arequipa region, with a population of around 17,600. Once a significant port for the surrounding area, the city retains reminders of that maritime heritage, including the Ancla de Mollendo and the Barco monument. Visitors can also explore the Estatua Santa Rosa de Lima, the Obelisco Mollendo, the Grau monument, Las Musas, and the Cruz de la Parroquia San Martín. Today Mollendo serves as a quiet seaside destination along Peru's southern coast.
