About Nossen

Nossen is a small town in Saxony's Meißen district, home to around 10,000 people and situated in the Freiberger Mulde valley between Dresden and Freiberg. It is the birthplace of the botanist Amalie Dietrich and is known for Schloss Nossen, a historic castle that today serves as an event venue. The adjoining Klosterpark, which features the historic Betsäule, offers pleasant walks through landscaped grounds. Local spots such as Höfer's and Schusterjunge, along with the Bücherei Obergruna, give the town a quiet, everyday character suited to unhurried exploration.
