Nyíregyháza is the capital of Szabolcs-Szatmár-Bereg County in northeastern Hungary, with a population of around 115,000 making it one of the country's larger regional cities. Points of interest include the Tuzson János Botanical Garden, the Greek Catholic cathedral of Szent Miklós, and an open-air stage at Bujtosi. The city has literary connections to writer Krúdy Gyula and poet Váci Mihály.
