About Ochsenfurt

Ochsenfurt is a small city of around 11,000 inhabitants in the Würzburg district of Lower Franconia, Bavaria, situated on the left bank of the Main river roughly 20 kilometres south of Würzburg. Its well-preserved medieval old town gives the centre a distinctive character. Visitors can explore several historic fortifications, including Burg Vogtsberg, Burgstall Kleinochsenfurt, and the Wasserburg Kautzenturm. Further points of interest include the Fähre Nixe river ferry, the participatory Mitmachgarten, the exhibition Im Zeichen der Venus, the Kartäusermuseum, and the roadside shrine Bildstock am Lohweg.
