About Santos

Santos is a coastal city in the state of São Paulo, Brazil, with a population of around 418,000. Situated on the Ilha de São Vicente, it is home to one of the busiest seaports in South America. The historic centre around Praça da República rewards exploration, as does the Teatro Municipal de Santos, a fine example of early 20th-century architecture. The hills of Monte Serrat and Morro do Jabaquara offer elevated views over the city and bay. Cultural venues such as the Cine Roxy and the Espaço Unibanco at Shopping Miramar round out the urban offer.
