About Urbino

Urbino is a small hilltop town in the Marche region of central Italy, with a population of around 14,000. Its well-preserved historic centre is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and is closely associated with the Italian Renaissance — notably as the birthplace of the painter Raphael and the seat of Duke Federico da Montefeltro. The surrounding hills offer scenic excursions to spots such as Monte Gaggino, Monte della Rocca, and Poggio della Bandiera. Within and near the town, the Giardino Pensile and the Chiesa di Sant'Ubaldo are among the notable points of interest.
