Honduras is a Central American country bordering the Caribbean Sea to the north and the Pacific Ocean to the south, with land borders shared with Guatemala, El Salvador, and Nicaragua. Its capital, Tegucigalpa, sits in the mountainous interior. The country is noted for the Maya ruins at Copán, the Río Plátano Biosphere Reserve, and the Bay Islands in the Caribbean.
