About Croatia
Croatia is a country in southeastern Europe, bordering Slovenia, Hungary, Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Montenegro, with a long coastline along the eastern Adriatic Sea. It has a population of around four million and has been a member of the European Union since 2013. The coastline stretches for over 1,700 kilometres and includes numerous islands. While the coast enjoys a Mediterranean climate, the interior is characterised by continental landscapes. The capital and largest city is Zagreb, and the country is one of the most visited destinations in the Mediterranean region.
