About Kazakhstan

Kazakhstan is the world's largest landlocked country, spanning Central Asia and parts of Eastern Europe. It shares borders with Russia, China, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, and Turkmenistan. The landscape ranges from vast steppes and semi-deserts to mountain ranges and the Aral Sea basin. The capital, Astana — formerly known as Nur-Sultan — is situated in the north of the country. Kazakhstan holds significant oil and natural gas reserves and is characterised by a diverse cultural heritage that blends nomadic traditions with rapid urban development.
