About Ukraine
Ukraine is the largest country lying entirely within Europe, bordering Russia, Belarus, Poland, Slovakia, Hungary, Romania, and Moldova, with coastlines on the Black Sea and the Sea of Azov. Its capital, Kyiv, is one of the oldest urban centres in Eastern Europe. The landscape ranges from vast steppe and fertile agricultural plains to the Carpathian Mountains in the west. Since Russia's full-scale invasion in February 2022, the country has been at war, significantly shaping travel conditions and the daily lives of its population.
