Naples rewards those who look up — and out. Castel Sant'Elmo crowns the Vomero hill with sweeping views across the city and the Gulf, while Castel dell'Ovo sits at the water's edge and Castel Nuovo anchors the historic waterfront. Further afield, Arechi Castle and Castello di Montesarchio look out over their respective valleys, and the Aragonese Castle commands the bay near Ischia. The volcanic landscape of the Phlegraean Fields, including Monte Nuovo and Monte Gauro, adds dramatic relief, as does Monte Taburno inland. Even Pompeii frames a striking view toward Vesuvius.
