Abbey Wood

Abbey Wood station became the southeastern terminus of the Elizabeth Line (Crossrail) in May 2022, giving this fare zone 4 suburb on the Greenwich–Bexley boundary a direct through-service across central London to Paddington and Reading. The station is fully step-free and functions primarily as a commuter interchange for the nearby estate of Thamesmead, which has no direct rail link of its own. Passenger numbers were around 3 million annually before the Elizabeth Line opened and are expected to rise significantly.
