Queen Beatrix International Airport

Queen Beatrix International Airport is the main gateway to the Caribbean island of Aruba, located just outside the capital Oranjestad. Named after Queen Beatrix of the Netherlands — Aruba being an autonomous country within the Kingdom of the Netherlands — the airport reflects that political tie through direct flights operated by KLM and TUI Airlines Nederland from Amsterdam. Between 1986 and 2000 it served as the home base for Air Aruba, a national carrier that has since gone out of business. Today the airport primarily connects the island to destinations across North and South America.
