Akademicheskaya
Akademicheskaya is a station on Moscow Metro's Kaluzhsko-Rizhskaya line, opened on 13 October 1962. It belongs to the functional shallow-pillar hall type built during the Khrushchev era as a deliberate departure from the ornate Stalinist showpiece stations — practical, bright, and stripped of monumental decoration. The station sits in the Akademichesky district, a residential area whose name reflects the Soviet-era research institutes once clustered nearby. It operates daily from 05:30 to 01:00 and now offers an interchange to the newer Troitskaya line.
