Amsel Falls

Amsel Falls is a small waterfall tucked into the Amselgrund ravine in Saxon Switzerland, about two kilometers north of the village of Rathen. Water cascades over moss-covered sandstone outcrops into a narrow, densely forested gorge — a setting characteristic of the Elbe Sandstone Mountains. The trail leading to the falls is accessible on foot only (no wheelchair access) and works well as a quiet half-day hike from Rathen, away from the more heavily visited Bastei plateau nearby.
