Ancienne commanderie de chevaliers teutoniques et parc Zuber

The former Teutonic Knights commandery in Rixheim near Mulhouse is one of the rare surviving Order estates in Alsace and is classified as a French historical monument. The grounds are intertwined with the Parc Zuber, belonging to the wallpaper manufactory Zuber & Cie, founded in 1797 and reputedly the last facility in the world still producing hand-printed scenic wallpapers using original wooden blocks. The park today offers a quiet passage between medieval Order heritage and one of France's most singular examples of living industrial craft tradition.
