Ariake

Ariake is a land-reclamation district in Tokyo's Kōtō ward, built up from Tokyo Bay over the course of the 20th century. It forms part of the Tōkyō rinkai fuku-toshin coastal subcenter alongside Odaiba and Aomi, covering 3.49 square kilometres with a population of roughly 9,000 as of the 2015 census. As a purpose-built modern district it lacks the layered urban character of older Tokyo neighbourhoods.
